Frequently asked questions

Grouped by the topics clients ask about before starting. The answers describe the general scope and process; for a specific case, ask our staff.

Getting started

I have just started my business and have no revenue yet. Do I need to start keeping accounts now?

A juristic person must keep accounts and file returns on time from the date of registration, even with no revenue yet. The firm will check which returns are due in the first months according to the status of the business (for example, whether it is VAT registered and whether it has employees) and then propose a suitable scope of work.

I am not sure which service I need. How should I start?

Choose “Not sure yet” in the contact form and describe your business briefly (type of business, whether it is VAT registered, how many employees). Our staff will get back to you to recommend the service that fits the work, with no sign-up and no need to enter your details twice.

I am outside Chiang Mai. Can I use the service?

The firm’s main area is Chiang Mai. For a business outside the area, please state your province and the kind of work in the contact form; our staff will tell you in what form the work can be taken on. The website does not confirm in advance that every area or every service is covered.

Fees and quotes

What is the accounting fee based on?

The monthly fee is based on the number of document items per month and the VAT registration status, plus payroll/social security work according to the number of employees; the rate table is on the pricing page. The monthly fee already includes the annual financial statements, so there is no extra year-end closing charge; the auditor’s audit fee is separate. Backlog, additional branches or stock are assessed case by case by our staff and stated in the quote.

Pricing and terms →

Is there an extra charge for closing the books at year-end?

No. The annual financial statements are included in the monthly accounting fee, so there is no year-end closing cost for the client. What is separate is the auditor’s audit fee, which is stated in the quote.

Pricing and terms →

How do I request a quote, and how long does it take?

Fill in the “Request a quote” form, choose the service and give some basic details about your business. The system issues a reference number as soon as the request is saved. Our staff will contact you through the channel you gave within 1 business day to ask any further questions before the formal quote is issued.

Request a quote →

Does the registration fee include government fees?

The firm’s fee for registering a limited company already includes government fees. For a limited partnership and other services, government fees follow the agency’s announcement on the day the work is done and are itemised in the quote.

Business registration →

Is there a long-term contract?

The contract terms, duration and notice of termination are set out in the quote or service agreement our staff send you before the work starts. The website does not set these terms in advance.

Tax and tax planning

What does a tax consultation with the firm cover?

It covers corporate income tax (P.N.D.50/51), VAT, withholding tax, and the tax on dividends and directors’ remuneration. We review your financial statements and the tax returns already filed, then summarise the approach in writing.

Tax advice and planning →

At what time of year should I get tax planning advice?

The most useful time is before the accounting period closes and before major decisions such as buying assets, paying dividends, opening a branch or changing the form of the business, because the way transactions are handled can still be adjusted. A review after year-end focuses on preparing the documents and filing the returns correctly.

Tax advice and planning →

My company is going to pay a dividend. What tax matters should I consider?

Paying a dividend involves the withholding tax of the recipient, the conditions the company must meet before declaring it, and the effect on the income tax of each shareholder. The right option must be judged from the company’s actual financial statements and shareholder structure, not from a general example.

Tax advice and planning →

How is tax planning different from tax evasion?

Tax planning means structuring revenue, expenses and remuneration in line with the rights and conditions the law allows, with documents supporting every item. The firm does not advise hiding income or creating expenses that do not exist, and does not promise tax savings in advance.

Tax advice and planning →

What should I prepare before a tax consultation?

Your latest financial statements or revenue and expense report, the tax returns filed in the past year, and details of the transactions or plans you want to discuss. Our staff will tell you about any further items after receiving your request.

Sending documents

What documents do I need to send the firm each month?

Generally the revenue and expense documents of that month, such as purchase and sales tax invoices/receipts, bank statements and payroll details (if you have employees). The exact list depends on the type of business; our staff send you the document list when the work starts.

Accounting and tax filing service →

Through which channel do I send documents?

Current clients send documents through the channel agreed with our staff at the start of the engagement (for example, the LINE account used for contact). Do not send accounting documents or financial information through the public contact form or the assistant chat on the website.

Switching accounting firm and backlog

How do I switch from my current accounting firm to YMTD?

Tell us in the contact form that you have a current firm and up to which period the work has been done. Our staff will tell you which documents to gather (for example, the latest annual financial statements, the fixed asset register and the tax returns already filed), check the filing status for you, and agree the month in which the monthly work starts.

Switch your accounting firm to us →

I have not kept accounts for several months. How do I fix this?

Backlog work is assessed case by case from the number of months outstanding and the documents available. The first step is to gather the revenue and expense documents and the tax returns already filed, then let our staff check which items still need to be filed. The website cannot confirm the penalties or tax consequences of an individual case.

Contact our staff →

Do the annual financial statements need an auditor?

By law, the financial statements of a juristic person must be audited and have an opinion expressed by an auditor. The firm can coordinate this; the signing auditor and the scope of the audit are set out in the service agreement.

YmtdBuddy, systems and POS (existing clients)

Can I still ask for the firm’s point-of-sale (POS) program to be installed?

No. The firm has discontinued the POS service and does not accept new installations. Existing clients who still use the program can contact the firm on LINE or by phone for advice on the program already installed.

POS discontinuation notice →

I am an existing POS client and need help. Where do I contact?

Contact our staff through the channel you already use (the firm’s LINE or phone) and see the notices about the system on the “System status” page. The firm no longer installs the program for new users.

What is YmtdBuddy? Can I sign up right away?
